Renal Cancer
Renal cancer refers to any cancer that starts in the kidneys. The most common type is renal cell carcinoma, which begins in the lining of the small tubes inside the kidneys. As the tumors grow, they can press on nearby organs, block urine flow, or spread to other areas of the body. While kidney cancer is quite serious, finding it early makes treatment more effective.
Symptoms
- Blood in the urine
- Back or side pain
- Fatigue and loss of appetite
- Weight loss not caused by dieting
- Fever that keeps returning
- Anemia
- Swollen ankles and veins
Laparoscopic radical nephrectomy and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy are options available to remove small renal tumors.
